Navigating the eerie corridors of the Raccoon City Police Department in Resident Evil 2 requires more than just surviving waves of the undead. One of the earliest major roadblocks players encounter is the Goddess Statue puzzle, which requires gathering three distinct medallions. Finding the correct combinations depends entirely on whether you are playing the standard A Scenario or the more challenging B Scenario.
The Lion Medallion Codes
The Lion Statue is the easiest to locate as it sits directly on the second floor of the Main Hall. For players running through the first playthrough, or Scenario A, the combination needed to unlock the prize is Lion, Twig, and Eagle. Inputting these symbols will instantly release the necessary medallion into your inventory.
If you are tackling the Second Run, known as Scenario B, the answers hidden within the police department shift entirely. You will need to rotate the dials to select the Crown, Flame, and Flying Bird symbols instead. Securing this emblem early helps keep your inventory moving smoothly while exploring the dangerous west wing.
The Unicorn Medallion Codes
To find the Unicorn Statue, survivors must navigate towards the Lounge area located right next to the Library on the second floor. In the standard Scenario A campaign, aligning the dials to show the Fish, Scorpion, and Vase symbols will solve the puzzle. This opens up the statue base and provides the second key item for the main hall mechanism.
When playing the alternative Scenario B route, the answer key changes to keep veteran players guessing. The correct sequence for this second run requires selecting the Twin Birds, Small Boat, and Harp symbols. Successfully entering these shapes allows you to claim the item and head toward the final statue.
The Maiden Medallion Codes
The Maiden Statue is located in the West Storage Room on the third floor, locked behind a barricade that requires detonating C4 explosives. For the standard Scenario A path, players must carefully enter the Woman, Bow, and Snake symbols into the dirty dials. Be prepared for a sudden fight, as blowing open this room frequently attracts nearby threats.
In Scenario B, this particular puzzle becomes slightly more difficult to read due to dirt covering the symbols on the dial. The correct input to release the final medallion requires selecting the Ram, Harp, and Bird combinations. Gathering all three medallions allows players to open the secret passage under the Main Hall and advance further into the nightmare.
